When people think of work, they don’t always think of fun. Weird right? At Foundry 17 we don’t think that the 9-5 has to be a grind: time to ditch the boring décor and follow these tips so you can work hard, and play harder.
A shared workspace can attract anyone from creatives to more business and industry sectors. But we’re finding that no matter what the industry, people want to rent a desk in a fun environment rather than a traditional office. So investing in a few pieces of art should go down pretty well. At F17, we have a killer collection of modern and urban art from Obey and Pure Evil to screen prints by some awesome local talent as well.
Don’t lie to yourself: you’re never too mature for ping-pong and table football. Serious work calls for serious breaks, and competitive arguments aside, our break-out area at Foundry 17 has gone down a treat. It’s easy to make new friends in a shared workspace when you’re competing for the king of the table title. We’ve got our eye on the next purchase for our shared workspace… pinball anyone?
No one wants to rent a desk in a dull space. It might be stating the obvious, but the easiest way to brighten up the office is to add some colour. Bringing in plants and bright furniture is a must, as long as you keep it stylish and avoid clashes. We’ve contrasted dark coloured walls with bright, clean furniture and features. It looks ultra modern and it’s maintenance free – what more could you want?
While we love art and colour and quirk, we’re minimalists at heart. The biggest mistake in office design is clutter and overcrowding – it’s best to avoid unnecessary furniture and useless shelving. There’s no point in having a sofa that no one uses, so be smart when you invest and take some advice from the office staff who will know what they’re craving in their shared workspace.
Nowadays, more and more businesses are making a conscious effort to go green. Foundry 17 is no exception; we want to treat our planet well and do our bit to help offset carbon emissions. That’s why we’ve made the switch to 100% renewable energy throughout the offices.
Everything from our tech enabled, super-sized desks to our GoPro influenced meeting pod, has been designed and built with the utmost care and attention to detail. Out last tip is: keep it bespoke, keep it unique and always aim to impress.
